Consumers are
exposed each season to a multiple of new styles by fashion designers. Some of
these styles are rejected by the press or by the retail level, but other styles
are accepted for a time, as demonstrated by consumers purchasing and wearing
them. The way in which fashion changes is described as a fashion cycle.
Life cycle of
a fashion trend...
The new trend
is back now a days, everyone is wearing sneakers to a fashion week, and you might
as well revoke your status as a fashion lover if you don’t wore Dior sunglasses
and a Gucci bag. Whatever ineffable qualities are found in the products that
made dominant trends every season are easy to recognize but next to impossible
to define. Those enviable products or styles found all over the run ways and
our social media feeds to catch the public attention. There are five stages of
cycle of fashion trends. These are...
- Introduction of a style:
- This is a style where a particularstyle is just introduced and many people follow it. At this stage the cost of the garment is generally very high because the garment is not produced in bulk and thus and the cost of production goes up.
- Increase in popularity...
- When a style is introduced its popularity depends upon the response of the people. If the indication are possitive, then the manufacturer starts adapting and copying the same style.
- Peak of popularity:
- In this stage where the demand for a style is the maximum or is at its peak. The production happens at all level but it is produced different levels at different prices.
- Decline in popularity:
- After gaining success the design slowly starts being rejected. This happens when people tried of a particular style and start looking for a change. This is new and fresh.
- Rejection of a style:
- In this stage where a consumer completely diacards a parricular design because the consumers are tried of seeing and wearing the same style which gives way to newer designs, styles to emerge.
